Jane took over the ower shop in the precinct from Gwen Hern in August 2004, the same shop that sparked her passion for oristry when she was just 15. Fuelled by countless cups of tea and the odd McDonald’s breakfast on the way back from the Southampton ower markets, Jane, Steph (o en owers delivered locally - “I love Hythe and being a local business owner, the last 20 years have been amazing, and I’m excited to see what the next years will bring,” she comments. Jane, Steph and the team want to thank everyone for their support over the last 20 years and will be celebrating this milestone by holding a charity cake sale with tea and bubbles during opening hours on Friday 2nd August and would love to welcome anyone who wants to join them. Money raised during the cake sale will go towards two charities that are close to Jane’s heart, the Piam Brown children’s cancer unit at Southampton Children’s Hospital and Diabetes UK. The organisers are looking for local enthusiasts, residents and businesses to create and display scarecrows for a fun lled trail, there will be prizes for Best Dressed Scarecrow, Funniest Scarecrow, Best Film/TV Scarecrow, Best Animal Scarecrow, Fan Favourite and Best Literary Scarecrow. Every entry will be considered for the competition with great prizes to win including free entry to local attractions, food and drink vouchers and more!
