As festival season is in full swing across the UK, Knights Grove Bupa Care Home has become an unlikely addition to this year’s summer lineup! e North Baddesley-based care home, along with multiple other Bupa care homes across the country, opened its doors to the community who were entertained by an impressive bill of local artists including, saxophonist Harry Lines, entertainment from Carousel eatre company and a guitar performance from care assistant, Simon Lai. e event, dubbed Bupa Fest, saw residents and sta alike don amboyant out ts – synonymous with music festivals. Attendees were also treated to an array of sweet treats, hot dogs and a glass of Pimms. Resident, Barry Pound was also celebrating his birthday on the day of the festivities. He turned 78 and was thrilled to receive such a celebration alongside his family and friends at the care home. Another resident, 63-year-old Simon Cantor, commented: “I had a nice time at the party. Nice food, and lovely sunny weather.” Home Manager at Knights Grove, Clare Relf, added: “We were delighted to welcome the local community, friends, and families to join in our Bupa Fest event. It was a joyful day for all involved. Music carries a number of benefits including boosting mood, helping to relax and stimulating memory. We’ve made lots of new memories and hopefully brought up some old, fond ones for our residents, reminiscing on their festival-going days. It’s our ambition to create events which foster a fun and engaging environment for our residents and after the success of Bupa Fest, we’re looking forward to hosting further activities in the coming months.” Knights Grove Bupa Care Home is situated in North Baddesley and welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care including dementia. Activities are planned throughout the year including arts and cra s, entertainment and games.
