Courtney is the great granddaughter of Charlie Finnikin who started in the sport almost 70 years ago. Following a career in the Junior MiniStox formula she became a big name in the world of BriSCA F2 Stock Cars particularly on the shale ovals. In 2022 Courtney then made the move into the formula which is known as “ e Big League” – BriSCA F1 Stock Cars which is a formula which utilises big American V8 Chevrolet 9 Litre engines generating around 800 bhp. is is not a formula for the feint hearted and is dominated by men – something which doesn’t phase Courtney who gives as much as she takes! So far Courtney has picked up three victories in the F1 Stock Cars with her rst coming on the 9th July 2022 at Skegness and her latest also coming at Skegness earlier this season on 12th May. Her large fan base was delighted though to see her booked in to make the 370+ mile round trip to race on the shale at King’s Lynn on 6th July and she put in a tremendous performance on her rst appearance in a BriSCA F1 Stock Car on shale! Courtney couldn’t have had a more di cult debut with a massive monsoon before her rst heat making the track tricky to say the least but she did exceptionally well to come through into third place. A lot of track work was done following the rst couple of races which created a much quicker track and Courtney proved herself to be as equally undaunted as she picked up sixth place in her next heat and despite spinning out on the second lap and rejoining in twenty sixth place a stellar performance saw her in sixth spot by the time the chequered ag fell. Courtney commented “It felt good to be back shale racing last night and the first time in an F1 where I was delighted with my results. I can’t thank Jamie Davidson Racing and Rob Plant enough for the loan of the car and the many people who kept it on track all night, making sure I was comfortable and the car was at its best for every race!”
