Maggie Blake wanted to set herself a challenge to raise money for charity to mark her 90th Birthday in September, originally hoping to do an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower, Maggie has now opted for walking horizontally, rather than vertically, walking a length of Hythe Pier for every year. Maggie will be raising money along the way for the Hythe Pier Heritage Association and the work of the volunteers at Hythe Men’s shed (at the Pier) restoring the Pier train. She started walking in July and has already had a number of donations given to her as she’s been treading the boards of the 640m Pier. Maggie has been overwhelmed by the support she has received so far, from people of all ages including young teenagers that have given her donations. Maggie is hoping to complete her 90th walk by the 15th September, a day before her 90th Birthday. Erratum It has been brought to our attention that there were some errors in the article from Fawley Parish Council about the Armed Forces Day in the 460 issue. e photo of the aircra was incorrectly captioned with Chris Ballard listed as a pilot rather than crew. e helicopter was own back to Historic Army Aircra Flight at Middle Wallop a er the event, not e Museum of Army Flying as written in the article. Apologies to Chris for these errors.
