A er contacting the council to get the area upgraded, Ben made a start tidying the courts himself and organised two community clear up sessions through local Facebook groups. e rst session was only attended by a local pensioner but sharing his post further the second event was more successful, with a team of willing volunteers arriving armed with brooms who swept the courts, ready for the council to paint new lines and repair the net posts. anks to Ben and his team of volunteers, the tennis courts have been given a new lease of life and are now ready for people to use once again. The team of volunteers After 1st sweep The tennis court before Ben started ROTARY COMMUNITY PRIZE e Chair of Governors at Oak Lodge School, Mike Robinson, recently had the pleasure of awarding Year 11 student, Karl Parkes-Davis with the Rotary Community Prize. Karl was part of a team of three pupils who made friends with the residents at Carpathia Grange in Hythe. He asked that his £50 prize be put towards organising an event for the residents or for the purchase of a piece of equipment. Hythe & Waterside Rotary congratulate Karl on his award.
