To their delight they came second overall in the poomsae event while winning the sparring and crowned the champions overall. WTC had many high performances in the poomsae performed brilliantly throughout. ey had many students appearing for the rst time, with Harrison Bridges and Henry Schugh winning outstanding gold medals. Master Sean Neil and Master Colin Graves have been attending many Championships over the years and this e W.I. Community Hall (W.I.C.H) in Dibden Purlieu is the subject for the next talk for the Hythe and District Historian, to be given by Liz Drake. It was opened in 1923 in Lunedale Road on land given by the local doctor’s wife, Mrs Peyton Beale. is is the story of the main venue of social and community activities in the area for many years. e talk is on Thursday 3rd October starting at 7.45pm at the Hythe and Dibden Community Centre in Hythe. e talk will follow a brief AGM of the Historians. Master Sean and Master Colin Graves with the team trophies The team celebrating together Gini Brown who is representing Great Britain in the World Championships as Master Kevin Westbrook took a gold medal with Leanne Browning-Martin, Tony Eyre and Gini Brown who celebrated her recent call up for Great Britain to the World Championships being held in Hong Kong later this year. Also a gold medal went to Master Colin Graves the chief instructor for Waterside as he won a tense golden round a er battling through 3 rounds. WTC also picked up a great haul of medals in the doubles and trebles. e sparring team that won the overall 1st place had doubles but was just pipped in the trebles. Then our sparring team just kept winning as the confidence grew throughout the morning. We have been training hard for this as our full time training centre stayed open during the summer holidays. The club is now booming thanks to the great team I have around me as many new students come along to join us through word of mouth.” comments Master Colin Graves. WTC were also recently awarded the 2024 Southern Enterprise Award for the Best Family Taekwondo Club in the South to go with the Prestige Award for the Best Club in 2023.
