A highlight, Café 11, didn’t disappoint with Pimms and some tasty food enjoyed by all as they nished hole 11 and before playing hole 12. Special thanks were extended to all those who created, donated and manned the delicious treats for Café 11. Not only did the golfers on the day enjoy the delights of Café 11, but all stayed behind for the presentation hosted by Julie Bailey, who stood in for Wendy, ably supported by Pam Colmer. Congratulations to Lady President 18 hole Trophy winner 2024 Marion Robinson with 39 points. Sheila Rothwell was nearest the pin on the 4th hole and Julie Weatherdon was nearest the pin on the 11th. Nearest the hole in two on the 13th was Mandy Tennant. Other results – Linda Compton won Division 1 and was closely followed by Sheila Rothwell with Margaret Shepherd coming third. Division 2 winner Julie Bailey, second was Lesley Mortimer and Elaine Thomas came in third. Jane Physick was the winner of Division 3 with Caroline Beech and Ros Bently coming in second and third respectively. e 9 hole short course results: Naomi Lowman nearest the pin on the 4th hole. New Forest Golf Club Seniors Championship 43 New Forest Golf Club Seniors entered this two-round competition on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th September. e rst day dawning dull but dry and warm with brief spells of sunshine. e Champions Cup is for the player with the best gross total over the two days. e Sandy Sanders Trophy goes to the player with the best nett score. At the end of day 1, Steve Duckett was comfortably ahead of the entire eld with gross 73 and Charlie Tabor led the nett competition with nett 63. Nearest the pin on hole 11 was Chris Bennett. Round 2 on ursday was a totally di erent set of conditions. Early light rain deteriorated into a steady downpour and the 39 who started were rapidly whittled down to just 28 stalwarts at the nish. Steve Duckett extended his lead, carding a gross 76 to win the Championship Cup for the eighth year running. e Sandy Sanders Trophy was won by Charlie Tabor who retained his lead from the rst round by nishing with a very creditable nett 70 and a grand total of 133. Nearest the pin in 2 on hole 18 was won by Andy Homes. Champions Cup (Gross): 1st Steve Duckett 73+76 = 149, 2nd Dave Jones Captains Challenge Trophy ursday 29th August 53 New Forest Golf Club Seniors turned up on another perfect gol ng day for this team stableford o the white tees. Fourteen teams, each one led by a current or past Seniors Captain (or stand-in) played with the best 3 scores out of 4 counting towards the team total. Due to the odd number of competitors leaving three teams with just 3 players, in these one player in rotation played two balls. e top two teams both scored 124 points with Alan Clark’s team winning on countback. Dave Scott won the prize for nearest the pin on the 13th. 1st Alan Clark, Andy Homes, John Ireland, Chris Hughes 124pts (back 9=70), 2nd Richard Hammond, Charlie Hughes, Andy Godwin, Pete Ayers 124pts (back 9=64).
