A er su ering a ‘business full stop’ during Covid we found, a er the initial ‘catch up’ parties and celebrations immediately a erwards, that a reshu e of our various sides of our business was in order and vinyl took pride of place! During lockdown we produced radio shows from our home to keep in touch with friends and use up our time and energy to the tune of 8 hours of shows a week, which we thoroughly enjoyed. ose shows are still available on MixCloud and donated to the Hospital Broadcasting Association. We are so pleased - and surprised - that they have continuously aired for the last few years as far away as Australia and as close as Gosport! It is especially humbling that since April, New Forest Hospital Radio have broadcasted our shows every week, available to everyone on all platforms including DAB. We have been asked for more so will be recording again soon! at’s a little background to Retro Grooves, covering all genres from late 50’s to the late 80’s, played on our 1978 Decks, we even have retro box lights, with real light bulbs! March 2023 saw us launch Solent Soul, a vinyl only mix of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s Soul, Northern Soul, Funk, Motown and Disco. Both Retro Grooves and Solent Soul enjoy many local residencies in and around the New Forest, are regulars at e Wash House for the Milford on Sea Festival, Shake & Stir, Poole Goes Vintage & the Cli op Festival, Highcli e and available for one o gigs, parties and/or regular bookings. All details available on our website: www. retrogrooves.co.uk and events on our Facebook pages. Our contemporary digital service, New Forest DJ Services remains available.
