Nephew Roy and his wife Anne, came all the way from Polokwane in South Africa to help her celebrate, while nephew Jonathan and his wife Sheila came down from Aberdeen, youngest son Terry brought his whole tribe of ten down from the Eyemouth area in Scotland, where he was the local Postmaster. After son Douglas read out the main speech, and son Anthony showed everyone the Queen’s birthday card, daughter Jacqui helped her cut up the three giant cakes spelling out 100. It was an evening to remember, and joins a long lifetime of memories. Marjorie is now sharing a house with her daughter Jacqui, in Dibden. Marjorie Celebrates Centenary Marjorie Matthews and her family on 100th Birthday Continued from front page The Marina Art group will be holding their annual exhibition in the Hythe Hub (formerly the Solent Dolphin Room or Room 20) on Hythe Marina from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March . This is on the first floor of the building on the left of the fountain at the entrance to the marina. There will be no entry fee, but money from voluntary donations and a percentage of any artwork sold will be given to the Hythe Pier Heritage Association. The lively group is not limited to marina residents, and their artwork includes a wide variety of subjects and media. New members are always welcome.
