It was a great opportunity for supporters to meet, exchange views and learn from each other. Project Leader Andy Clarke looked at what had been achieved over the last year and set out the charity’s plans and aspirations for the coming twelve months. A very friendly and successful meeting was topped by a generous and tempting bu et and celebration cake. anks go to Rosemary for her time and e orts in preparing such a spread. e Crossings is a registered charity whose aim is to provide help and advice to anyone in the Waterside and eastern New Forest area who is homeless or threatened with the loss of their accommodation. is represents a very real problem locally. e District Council does what it can but there is a need to provide help and guidance to persons facing the threat of homelessness. Who should they approach? What are their options? Help with online applications. e Crossings provides a drop in centre in the Jordan room at St Johns Church Hythe on Wednesdays between 10am and 1pm and on Saturdays between 10am and 12.15pm. Experienced volunteers from various backgrounds are available for anyone who is homeless, sofa sur ng or with housing or associated bene t problems. Discussions are con dential. A cup of tea and a listening ear are always available. e Crossings has made good progress in the last year in building working relationships with the various agencies involved with homelessness issues. ey have also seen some success in e orts to help visitors to the centre either resolving accommodation problems or even rehousing. e centre advisors enjoy a great team spirit and have forged good relationships with the men and women who seek their help or just drop in for a cuppa and a chat.
