As they approached, they could see he had smashed his way into the property using a golf club. Broken glass from where he had got into the premises lay all over the oor. e o cers had to struggle with the suspect to disarm him, and they ended up rolling around in the glass before a member of the public came to assist them. e man stabbed PC Hill in the nger with a hypodermic needle he had concealed. Chillingly, as he did so, he shouted that he was ‘infected with HIV’. As nominees, PCHill and PC Parsons will attend a prestigious daytime reception and evening awards ceremony in London in July 2021. e 2020 event, e 25th National Police Bravery Awards had been scheduled to take place this past summer but had to be cancelled due to Coronavirus. Nevertheless the Police Federation of England and Wales wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the fantastic work of all 94 nominees from across the country. John Apter, National Chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, said: “We are incredibly proud of all the nominees from across England and Wales. The actions of these courageous officers provide a small snapshot of the amazing work our colleagues carry out day in and day out. “As a Police Federation, we wanted to make sure these brave officers David Morris has con rmed that the 2021 Hythe & Waterside Calendar will be available in various outlets (including the Herald o ce) from mid- November. Calendars can be posted to remote/overseas locations on request. Hythe & Waterside Calendar 2021 It is with regret, due to COVID-19, that the group has been unable to function throughout 2020. It has been decided to cancel this year’s Christmas Fayre which was due to take place in Lyndhurst. A provisional date of Thursday 11th November 2021 has been earmarked for next year’s fayre. A big THANK YOU goes out to all the loyal table and stall holders who have supported the group over the years. With luck, 2021 will be a much better year for everyone.
