Last Christmas, their pupils decided to send Christmas Cards to the residents of Muir House in Dibden Purlieu, a sheltered accommodation scheme for the over 60’s, with the aimof developing a relationship with the residents. Obviously visits in person were thwarted by the pandemic so to follow up the Christmas cards, the pupils decided to write letters to the residents instead. e sta at Waterside Primary have selected two of these letters as this year’s winners of their school’s competition. Hythe & Waterside Rotary are especially pleased with this initiative as Muircro Housing Association was founded by Hythe Rotary Club some 40 years ago and there is still a close connection between the two organisations. ey are delighted to publish the two winning letters, written by Scarlett and Shannon, both of whom are to be congratulated on impressive pieces of writing by 10-year-olds.
