CAR BOOT SALE A Car Boot Sale is taking place at Memorial Car Park in Totton on Sunday 3rd and 17th September from 9am to 12noon (weather permitting). Undercover Agent New Forest and Waterside U3A’s next meeting is on Tuesday 5th September for a talk by Hazel Nicolson titled ‘Undercover Agent’. On Tuesday 19th September for a talk by Marcus Ward titled ‘ e New Forest : A Wildlife Year’. Tea and biscuits are available a er the talk, and the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest groups such as gardening, history, discussion, skittles and much more. ere is usually a lunch once a month and a holiday once a year. Other activities have included a visit to Bath Christmas Market, Hilliers for the lights, Lepe House open garden and theatre trips. Waterside Woodcarvers Hythe and District Historians return from their Summer break with a talk on Thursday 7th September by Colin van Ge en on Noel Pemberton Billing. Pemberton Billing was an Aviator, Inventor, Publisher, and an MP. He formed the company that became Supermarine at Woolston with Hubert Scott Paine as works manager. He also had controversial views which led to libel trials. e talk starts at 7.45 pm at the Hythe and Dibden Community Centre. Octobers talk is given by Gordon Chambers entitled Images of Hythe and District, which is proceeded by the Historians AGM. Visitors are very welcome to both talks.
