Founder member and well known village resident Suzan Houching heads a cast of ten painters! Familiar faces are Brenda Farrell, Linda Easter, Christine Coney, Daphne Ellman, Lindsey Cole, Margaret Plant, Tony Clegg, and Danny Byrn and new this year Carolyne Viney. Between them they o er traditional to contemporary work across a broad array of mediums. Big or small, original or print, there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy and a ord. e exhibition doesn’t just feature 2D art but also showcases an interesting display of 3D items, woodwork in many styles from functional pieces to beautifully carved ornaments come from the skilled hands of Paul Humphriss, Roger Plant and Nigel Chant. Glass work by Lucy Bramley, ceramics by Penny Stevens and jewellery by a variety of exhibitors. Yummy cakes and tea or co ee are available at a very reasonable price and a chance to see the exhibitors working concludes what is on o er. Follow the signs and go and see them as they would love to see you. Marchwood’s ‘Carnival’ Fete is taking place on Saturday 23rd September, 12noon to 4pm, at Lloyd Recreation Ground. Get dressed up in colourful Carnival out ts ready for the children’s fancy dress competition, with a prize of Smyths Toys vouchers for the winner and runners up. Headlining the entertainment this year are the wonderful Panatical Steel Band who will be back to give that iconic carnival sound. ere will also be performances from Marchwood Military Wives Choir, MB Twirlstars, New Forest Martial Arts, Shine Performing Arts, Stacey T White School of Dance and Benny Balloon, Magician & Balloon Modeller, as well as children’s races, rides and bouncy castle, plus activities and cra s. An amazing array of stalls from local sellers and groups will be there on the day including: Marchwood Mens Shed, Waterside Woodcarvers, New Forest Bee Keepers, Marchwood Twinning Association, Marchwood Candles, Mulberry Pre-school, Marchwood Junior School, Waterside Fire Engine, local churches and more!
