Back in June, e Imaginarium had competed with other bookshops in the county to be named best in Hampshire and IOW, which put them in the pool for the national title. On 27th July, they received the news that they had won. Being chosen by an independent panel of judges and were selected over more established and longer running shops across the country. e Imaginarium opened in September 2022 in the heart of the New Forest. It’s a venture by husband and wife duo Daniel and Robyn, with Robyn being the face of and running, the shop. “We can’t actually believe that we won! We love our little shop, and we have a wonderful customer base who also love it, but it’s such an incredible feeling to be recognised for what we’re trying to achieve. We wanted to create a community hub, a safe space for readers to enjoy books and I think we’ve done that.” Robyn said. e Booksellers Association earlier on in the year reported that independent bookshops are at a tenreaders. We’ve helped raise money for charities and connected readers and book lovers through our events. Art Journaling to Kickstart your Creativity runs every Tuesday from 19th September to 10th October, 2pm to 4.30pm. is course is an introduction to art journaling, to kickstart creativity and is suitable for complete beginners who would like to create for fun with like-minded individuals. Mindful Folk Stitching will run every Wednesday from 4th to 25th October, 2pm to 4.30pm. e course is suitable for anyone with an interest in hand embroidery; complete beginners and more experienced stitchers are all welcome! Sing Your Way to Better Mental Health will run on Mondays from 6th November to 4th December, 10am to 11am. is course is open to anyone who enjoys singing.
