Around 60 attendees joined the volunteers running the group on Saturday 15th July for a BBQ, birthday cake and banter. e group was entertained by e Burnt Toast Band taking a trip down memory lane with many old favourite tunes. e Waterside Veterans Co ee Club was set up 2 years ago to provide a meeting place for local military veterans, serving personnel and their families to come together on the 3rd Saturday of each month for bacon butties and the usual military banter. e group is supported by e Scratch Presenter and broadcaster Michael Kurn, being presented with a plaque as a friend of WVCC WVCC birthday cake every month from 10am in the Veterans Lounge at Fawley Royal British Legion, Exbury Road, Black eld, SO45 1XD. eir next meeting will take place on Saturday 17th September. Organised by Waterside Primary Care Network and the Parish of Hythe, the day will o er an opportunity to meet the people that are running groups locally, whilst enjoying free refreshments. You will be amazed by the wonderful groups running in the Waterside!
