Every meeting includes a ra e with many members leaving with a prize or two. e club holds many events throughout the year As some members had speci c dietary requirements everyone brought their own food either a picnic or to cook on the BBQs provided. One BBQ was reserved for gluten free food. e weather was kind considering there had been a downpour prior to starting the event. e sun came out treating the group to a rainbow and a dry, pleasant evening. Many members took home ra e prizes. Everyone said it was good to get together to socialise and relax with other club members, their partners and family. On ursday 20th July, members met for a picnic at Ashlett Creek near Fawley village. e Jolly Sailor pub looked very attractive with its colourful hanging baskets of owers. ere was plenty of activity to watch including boats in the creek and the shipping on Southampton Water. ose who attended enjoyed themselves in the sunshine. Ashlett Creek is well worth a visit. e club is always happy to welcome new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting those enthusiasts who appreciate them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. Members have a range of classic vehicles such as Bedford, Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley, Saab, Triumph and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the membership. The next meeting will be on Thursday 14th September. Meetings take place on the second ursday of each month, starting at 7.30pm, at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Rd, SO40 7GH. Do go along and meet them. ‘LIFE’S TOO SHORT – PUT SOME MILES ON IT’ with speakers on various topics, picnics, quizzes, car meets, club drive days and an annual charity auction. So why not drop in for a taster visit, a tea or co ee and share any of you classic car experiences with members? You will receive a warm welcome. Club News On ursday 13th July, the club held its summer social evening with a BBQ. Club trip out to Ashlett Creek JoinHythe Library on Wednesdaymornings 10am to 12noon to meet and socialise with new friends who are also retired. Feel free to bring along existing friends or get to know their regulars and enjoy a free hot drink and maybe even a biscuit.
