Marchwood’s ‘Carnival’ Fete is taking place on Saturday 23rd September, 12noon to 4pm, at Lloyd Recreation Ground. Get dressed up in colourful Carnival out ts ready for the children’s fancy dress competition, with a prize of Smyths Toys vouchers for the winner and runners up. Headlining the entertainment this year are the wonderful Panatical Steel Band who will be back to give that iconic carnival sound. ere will also be performances from Marchwood Military Wives Choir, MB Twirlstars, New Forest Martial Arts, Shine Performing Arts, Stacey T White School of Dance and Benny Balloon, Magician & Balloon Modeller, as well as children’s races, rides and bouncy castle, plus activities and cra s. An amazing array of stalls from local sellers and groups will be there on the day including: Marchwood Mens Shed, Waterside Woodcarvers, New Forest Bee Keepers, Marchwood Twinning Association, Marchwood Candles, Mulberry Pre-school, Marchwood Junior School, Waterside Fire Engine, local churches and more! On Tuesday 3rd October for a talk by David Boag titled ‘Natural Quarry’. Tea and biscuits are available a er the talk, and the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest groups such as gardening, history, discussion, skittles and much more. ere is usually a lunch once a month and a holiday once a year. Other activities have included a visit to Bath Christmas Market, Hilliers for the lights, Lepe House open garden and theatre trips.
