Maples burst with rich tones, whilst rare and unusual plants thrive amongst the autumn temperatures. Throughout October you can discover the garden sculpture trail, with contemporary handmade sculptures around the gardens. Enjoy a wide range of styles as you explore the gardens, from stone designs to creative ceramics, genteel glasswork to illuminating aluminium. e garden sculpture trail runs until 30th October and is sure to capture your imagination as the sculptures nestle against the beautiful backdrop of the gardens. Also this month, Furzey Gardens hosts its second annual Apple Day event on 14th and 15th October. A celebration of seasonal fruit and local cra , visitors can have a go at apple pressing, see and taste over 50 di erent types of apple and join in with family fun activities. ere is a woodland play area, quirky thatched structures to explore and over 40 tiny fairy doors to discover, you will nd plenty to keep the kids entertained whilst you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. e secrets of Furzey Gardens are just waiting for you to discover this autumn. Skittles every month on a Friday morning at e Ship Inn at Redbridge. ey will hold their next meeting on Thursday 12th October for a talk by Jeremy Prescott titled ‘Steve Biko’. ey meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month at St Andrew’s Centre, Dibden Purlieu from 2pm to 4pm. Everyone is very welcome. Go along and enjoy interesting talks, and a friendly chat with a cuppa and biscuit. e Embroidered Wall hanging that the Townswomens Guild did for the old hospital many years ago has been rehung in the new hospital for all to see. Admission is £2 for members and £5 for visitors.
