Ali White from Marchwood has recently retrained as an exercise instructor and will be o ering ‘Move It or Lose It’ classes for the over 60’s in both Marchwood Village Hall and Calmore Community Centre. Move It or Lose It classes o er seated and standing exercise options and are aimed at the over 60’s. e classes have been developed in conjunction with the NHS to have a positive e ect on the aging process, building strength and stamina, improving exibility and balance in a fun social setting. As the Manager of an independent retirement living development for the past six and half years, Ali has seen, rst-hand the negative impact that the pandemic has had on older generations both mentally and physically and she felt that she wanted to help to make a positive change for people in the local community. “My inspiration came when I went on a Yoga Retreat in Morocco, earlier this year, where I saw of supportive regular exercise in a group of people of all ages. I really benefited from the experience and knew that this was the change I needed in my life to help others. So I decided to retrain as an exercise instructor with ‘Move it or Lose it’” comments Ali. Ali has lived in Marchwood for 40 years and enjoys yoga, skiing, sea swimming at local beaches as well as cycling and walking her 3 dogs in the New Forest. Move It or Lose It classes with Ali cost £6 per session and take place at Marchwood Village Hall on Tuesdays 2pm to 3pm and at Calmore Community Centre on ursdays 12noon to 1pm.
