As Lady Montagu of Beaulieu, she became a champion of the Countryside Education Trust, raising considerable funds for the charity Dear ‘Herald’ readers, As some of you have noticed, I have not been writing a ‘Tale’ regularly since the beginning of 2023. I have been humbly surprised at the amount of people who have contacted or spoken to me saying how much they have missed these ‘Tales’, and please would I start writing them again. I have decided that I now have a little more time, and possibly could nd time to start writing them again. However, I do need your help because I am not a local person, and therefore not aware of who may possibly have a story. I would love to receive contact from anyone who has a relative, friend or acquaintance who is buried or interred within the graveyard of All Saints Church, Fawley. I am especially interested to receive contact with anyone who has knowledge of someone who was the postman, or baker, or ordinary working person doing an ordinary everyday job. ere must be some of you who remember someone who was perhaps a farm worker on the Cadland Estate, or perhaps there was a local thatcher, or gamekeeper, midwife or nursery nurse etc. e only criteria is that they MUST be buried or interred in the graveyard, or mentioned on one of the plaques inside the church. Please feel free to contact me on my email: patriciahg184@outlook.com. If you do not have access to an email, please phone e Herald o ce and give them your name and telephone number and I will contact you on the telephone. through her annual Christmas Fair at Palace House.
