For more information and entry visit Southampton Orienteering Club’s website: southampton-orienteers. org.uk Orienteering comes to Dibden Inclosure bringing its love for nature and fun for the whole family with it. Orienteering is a sport that involves using a map and compass to nd a series of checkpoints throughout the forest – like a treasure hunt for land folk. Checkpoints consisting of an orange and white ag might be hanging on a fence, hidden in a ditch, or balancing on a feed trough. e whole family can get involved, together as a team or individually with courses for all abilities. e orienteering event in Dibden will be run by Southampton Orienteering Club which was formed in 1968 and runs a monthly event in and around Southampton and the New Forest. All ages and abilities are welcome at these events. So come along to enjoy the winter weather in the New Forest on Saturday 9th December and try your hand at orienteering. e event will be based out of the Try Orienteering at Dibden Inclosure beginners, taking 30 min to walk or 15 min to run. FAWLEY EVENTS CHRISTMAS FAYRE Parking is free and available at the Salterns Lane Car Park (Courtesy of Exxon), please be mindful of parking in and around the village the organisers do not want to upset residents. Fawley Events are a non pro t making organisation and rely on sponsors to be able to bring this event to you. Any pro ts go back into the community and they also host a Christmas Senior Party for residents to enjoy. Fawley Events Committee will be holding their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 9th December from 4pm-7pm. e event is free to enter and all costs for any festive activities organised by the committee is kept to a minimum (to help families during this time make Christmas a special time for them). ere will be Santa as usual in the Grotto, and Polar Pete will be making an appearance with some free goodies to give away to the children. e entertainment this year will be a local choir, local Brass band and the New Forest Meddlers. e Donkeys will be there giving rides to the children. You will find an abundance of stalls, both inside the Jubilee Hall and outside in the Square. Refreshments will be available from the committee and other festive food and drinks will be available. e fun fair will be there too but please be aware that the committee have no control over the pricing for the rides.
