Maureen gave a presentation outlining how the organisation started, how it then came under the umbrella of Wessex Cancer Support, and how they are very dependent on Volunteers to provide vital services to local people who have been impacted by cancer. In a non-clinical, relaxed environment, people can seek support whilst surrounded by people who have experience of a cancer diagnosis themselves or someone close to them. In their o ces at e Grove in Hythe village, they o er a variety of services including wellbeing activities, support groups, complementary therapies and counselling. e Centre is experienced in supporting anyone who has been impacted by a cancer diagnosis including patients, loved ones and carers. Maureen Robb with Hythe & Waterside Rotary President, Jim Whitehouse Hythe & Waterside Rotary have always supported this most valuable local resource over the years and members were so grateful to learn more about the services the Centre provides. LIVING AFTER LOSS ‘Living A er Loss’ Bereavement Support Group is provided in Partnership with the Red and Green Practice, Hythe and Black eld Patient Participation Group, Waterside Health Centre. Meet others who have experienced loss, to talk and share in a safe environment. e team, led by Dot Croall, will be on hand to listen, and support you, and provide information on useful resources. Tea, co ee and snacks will be provided, and you are welcome to come and go at any time that suits you. Join them on the 2nd Monday of the month from 2pm to 4pm, at the Lighthouse Community Church, A326, Hardley Green.
