The evening promises to be entertaining, commencing with the Melody Makers singing a selection of seasonal songs. Lymington Town Band will be playing an assortment of music a er the interval. e evening will be rounded off by the Melody Makers, accompanied by Lymington Town Band, singing some favourite Christmas carols. Audience participation is welcomed but not compulsory. ey will be selling so drinks and wine and there will also be a ra e with some lovely prizes on o er. e cost of a ticket is only £5. Tickets are available from e Herald o ce in Hythe; The Store in Blackfield and the Convenience shop in Fawley. ere will also be tickets available to purchase on the night. Advent Activities and Services in Hythe From St John’s Church As you would expect, Advent and Christmas is always a busy time at St John’s Church. is year we kickstart the festivities with our annual Christmas Fair on Saturday 25th November, 10am-1pm in St John’s Hall. ere will be a whole array of gi s for sale, as well as delicious cakes and bakes. Do pop in to see us. On Sunday 3rd December, Advent Sunday, we have Bishop Debbie joining us for our morning service at 10.30am. is will be her last service in the Diocese before she moves to take up her new role as Bishop of Peterborough. en, that same day at 5.30pm we have a special service of Advent Carols to help us re ect on the season of Advent and of waiting for Christ’s birth. On Sunday 10th December we have the New Forest Brass Band joining us once again for our Christingle Service at 4pm. It’s sure to be a really fun service and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit with the whole family. A Musical Journey with Ann Turner and Friends On Saturday 25th November Ann Turner and Friends will be presenting a concert entitled ‘A Musical Journey’ in St Andrew’s Centre Hall at 7.30pm in aid of the Honeypot Children’s Charity. ere will be a variety of musical styles during the evening, including piano duets and a range of vocal music. Join them on a journey from madrigals to modern time. You will also be able to hear more about the charity during the evening. ere is no charge or tickets for the concert but there will be a retiring collection. Woodside Singers ‘Christmas is Coming’ Concert e Woodside Singers are a choir of 30 members who have been performing in the Hythe and Waterside area for over 40 years. ey are excited to be performing a selection of festive songs and carols for your enjoyment and participation at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Eling Hill, Eling SO40 9HF on Saturday 2nd December at 7.30pm.
