Hythe and Dibden YFC, who pride themselves on providing football for all, were previously awarded the accolade in 2019 and have been cited by Hampshire FA as being “incredibly inclusive”. e Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards recognise and celebrate the people and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to grassroots football in the county. e Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards website states: “At Hythe & Dibden Youth FC there is one clear goal - to become one of the FA’s benchmark clubs for inclusivity in youth football. The club’s motto is ‘We All Can Play’, stemming from the belief that football can be a vehicle to empower children and young people with positive skills and values and have a powerful impact on their lives. The club’s mission governing body. But to receive it twice in the space of four years is an incredible honour, for everyone involved at the club. This award belongs to all of us. Players, parents and spectators, coaches, helpers who run the line and referee, collect subs, man the kiosk, arrange socials and more. Your hard work and excellent conduct as well as belief and support in what the club is trying to do is fundamental to this success. And of course our incredible club committee, volunteers who put in a huge level of effort, consistently going above and beyond to keep the club operating at the highest possible standards. A huge thanks also for our sponsors, MIMO Connect and Robertson ETOs. Their support makes a huge difference to the club’s ability to operate and provide excellent kits for the children and young people at the club.” Hythe and Dibden YFC was formed in 1999 and currently runs a range of teams from under 7 to under 18 age groups and o ers training to children from reception year age up. For more information please visit: hytheanddibdenyfc.co.uk is to make these benefits available to all, regardless of ability. The club works hard to keep the teams in each age group connected as one squad through a ‘soft tiering’ system. This enables the club to create a range of playing environments and conditions for players to be able to enjoy the beautiful game. The club has pushed hard over the last 10 years to grow girls’ football in the area and has over 120 girls and a girls’ team in every age group, offering playing opportunities for all.” Hythe and Dibden YFC Chairman James Golding comments: “What an incredible honour it was to be named Hampshire FA Grassroots Club of the Year again! After receiving the same accolade in 2019 we weren’t sure how we would top such a high level of recognition from English football’s Hythe YFC receiving their award Top Fundraisers! Members of the Gateway club have been recognised as the top fundraisers at this year’s Charity Walk at Beaulieu organised by Hythe & Waterside Rotary. In recognition of them raising a total of £1,939, President Jim Whitehouse and Rotarian Ray Lewis made presentations to members of Gateway at Exbury Club. “We simply wanted to acknowledge the amount of effort Gateway put into this event” says President Jim. “This is an amazing amount of money raised. Well done everyone!”.
