House Clearances with SiteSolved Ltd Walk a Mile to End Polio Members of Hythe & Waterside Rotary along with family and friends took part in the ‘Walk with us – to end Polio’ challenge. A one mile walk, from Dibden Purlieu to Langdown, took place to raise awareness of Polio, the world’s forgotten disease and something that should have been made history a long time ago. It is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease with no cure. However, there are safe and e ective vaccines. Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years and the goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever. As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9% since its rst project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. roughout the month of October, Rotarians all over the world have been taking up the challenge to raise awareness and to raise vital funds that will help eradicate and prepare us for a Polio free world.
