Animals have a wonderful calming e ect and the residents love to stroke them, talk to them and have a cuddle from them. e home was visited by Holly a 9 year old New Forest show pony who caused a great deal of excitement. All of the residents enjoyed the visit; they petted and chatted to Holly who seemed to appreciate meeting her new friends. Fiona Kinsman says: “Holly had a wonderful afternoon! I don’t think she has ever had so much attention! It was lovely to see the residents getting so much pleasure from the visit, I think it is fair to say Holly has a new fan club!” General Manager, Monika Zytowiecka said: “All our residents are fascinated by animals so we were delighted that Holly was able to visit. It was brilliant to be able to ask questions about working with the animals and what it is like to look after them”. With their small team of volunteers they support and help to enable and maintain independence. Dementia Sing Along in Braishfield Braish eld Ukulele Music Society (BUMS) are hosting a sing along session for those with dementia on Monday 18th December, 2.30pm to 4pm, in All Saint’s Church Room, Braish eld, Romsey, SO51 0QH. All are welcome to take a carer, friend or partner. Song sheets and refreshments provided. e event is free but donations are welcomed to cover expenses. Monthly Coffee Morning Abbey eld House, Mill Lane, Romsey (SO51 8EW) open their doors on the first Monday of the month, 10.30am to midday, to welcome friends and neighbours for a co ee morning.
