Still meeting twice a year, it is an event greatly looked forward to and enjoyed by both generations, enabling the exchange of memories and experiences. Head Teacher, Mrs Katherine Jones said: “This is the first time since Covid that we have been able to hold one of these events again and they have been much missed by the children. As well as being great fun it is very rewarding for them to be able to spend time with some of the older residents of the village.” Event organiser Jan Hoy added; “We are very grateful to the Beaulieu Common Good Trust for their continuing funding support of this initiative. These biannual events are always much looked forward to and enjoyed by the young and old alike.” The children really enjoyed the a ernoon, Evie in Year 3 said: “I liked the lady who was sat next to me. She was really kind and taught me how to play.” Monty in Year 4 said: “It was so much fun. When anyone got a number they were so excited and just couldn’t help shouting out!” Lily in Year 5 comments: “I just loved it. The people were really nice and the cakes and scones were so lovely.” William in Year 6 added: “I talked to the man on my table. He was really friendly and kind. He told me every day he’s trying to enjoy himself and do something for a good time.” Bingo Evacuees at Manor CE Infant School On Friday 10th November, the children at Manor CE Infant School in Holbury dressed up as evacuees to raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. It’s time to get excited about Christmas as you walk through e Lodge, past the peaceful Nativity scene, and then on to Father Christmas himself who will be sat in his rocking chair resting before his big day. He will be waiting to give the children a jolly wave and an extra special “Ho-ho-ho”. e rest of the farm is open as normal, so children and adults alike can meet chicks, guinea pigs, and rabbits in the Animal Encounter Barn. e goat kids and calves will be waiting to meet the visiting children and will want to be bottle-fed their milk while they share the children’s Christmas excitement. ere are lots of other animals such as horses, alpacas and chickens to see as well. Children can run o their energy in the playtime areas which include go-karts, mini tractors, crazy golf, the diggers, and indoor play in the Piglets Play Barn. Don’t miss the Farm Shop which is stocked with a wide range of delicious local produce and festive fare. Why not pick up a hamper for a wonderful Christmas gi , or visit the Gi Shop which has lots of lovely toys, books and so animals to purchase. A Longdown Activity Farm 2024 season ticket is also a great Christmas present idea.
