The next meeting will be 11th January. ‘LIFE’S TOO SHORT – PUT SOME MILES ON IT’ The Southampton and New Forest Group of the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club members are continuing to enjoy the friendly, social atmosphere at their monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e with many members leaving with a prize or two. e club holds many events throughout the year with speakers on various topics, picnics, quizzes, car meets, club drive days and an annual charity auction. Club News On ursday 23rd November, members enjoyed another ‘Out and About’ event at the Whinwhistle Coarse Fishery Cafe at West Wellow. The group would like to thank the team at The Herald for their support in advertising the club and its activities during 2023. This has successfully boosted membership. The club wishes all the staff at The Herald a happy healthy New Year. e club is always happy to welcome new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting those enthusiasts who appreciate them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. Members have a range of classic vehicles such as Bedford, Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley, Saab, Triumph and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the membership. Each year, these unique awards o er twelve inspirational young people the opportunity to experience a life changing sailing trip with the Ocean Youth Trust South (OYT South) onboard its sail training vessel, Prolific. Nominate a young person today MDL is looking for third party nominations for young people aged between 12 and 18, who have supported those around them, shown exceptional accomplishments and achievements or who have overcome adverse personal circumstances. ose in contact with young people are invited to send in nominations, including teachers, guide or scout leaders, youth group leaders, friends and employers. e young sailors enjoy all aspects of life on board, including hoisting sails, helping with maintenance, night sailing, cooking, and cleaning. e winners are selected from the regions in which MDL Marinas are located: the South West, Dorset, Hampshire, ames Valley and East Coast. Past winners have included young people who’ve had added family responsibilities, been involved in voluntary work or been outstanding achievers, as well as those who’ve never had the chance to travel abroad. Nominating is easy, it’s all online. You’ll need to provide some basic contact details and write a couple of paragraphs (no more than 200 words) on why you’re making the nomination.
