Taking place on Saturday 18th May*, this fundraising promenade along the spectacular Dorset and Hampshire coast is the perfect challenge, providing the opportunity to get out and enjoy our beautiful local shoreline with friends, family or colleagues whilst raising much-needed funds for Oakhaven Hospice. Choose to walk one of three distances along stunning seafront and coastal paths to Oakhaven Hospice; approximately 26 miles from Sandbanks, 14 miles from Mudeford or 8 miles from Barton-on-Sea. Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers like you take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring. It’s easy to be part of Big Garden Birdwatch. Simply choose an hour between 26th and 28th January and count the birds you see in your garden, from your balcony, or in your local park. Only count birds that land and record the highest number of each bird species you see at any one time. en tell the RSPB what you saw, even if you saw nothing, it still counts. In 2023 the most spotted bird was the house sparrow, followed by blue tit, starling, woodpigeon and blackbird.
