25th January 2024 • The HERALD • Page 51 v SAY YOU SAW IT IN THE HERALD v WE CARE, YOU CARE FORGET-ME-NOT SINGING CLUB Forget-me-not Singing Club is a fun and friendly singing club for people living with dementia. e club is led by folk singer-songwriter and Natural Voice trained choir leader, Amy Hopwood and runs on Fridays from 2pm to 3.30pm at Brockenhurst Methodist Church Hall, Avenue Road, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RT. e club is aimed at people living with dementia and their friends, relatives and carers, but anyone else who just fancies a good sing is very welcome to join too. Each session is £3 per person including free tea/ co ee and biscuits. Held at Eastleigh’s YMCA, the festivethemed gathering included a delicious Christmas lunch complete with all the trimmings. is was followed by games, including a tombola and a ra e which Right at Home’s CareGivers generously donated prizes for. e event encapsulated the Christmas spirit, lled with the sounds of carols and laughter. e sta went above and beyond, organising a minibus to pick up clients as well as dressing up in festive costumes to add to the joyous mood. One of the highlights of the day was the surprise visit from Santa Claus, who brought smiles to everyone’s faces, as well as plenty of festive treats. Right at Home Mid Hampshire Managing Director, Nick Turner, added: “It has been such a fantastic day. I’m so proud of everyone’s efforts in organising this event, it’s truly embodied the spirit of Christmas. Our CareGivers have gone above and beyond to get everyone here, and it’s so nice to see everyone having such a good time. Our commitment to providing not only care but also companionship and joy to our clients is what makes events like this so meaningful. It’s more than just a party; it’s about creating a sense of community and belonging, especially during a time of year that can be difficult for many.
