Children were delighted as they received some gi s, courtesy of Santa Claus himself, adding an extra sparkle to their holiday spirits. e re engine, adorned with cheerful Christmas scenes and melodies, illuminated the festive atmosphere, captivating the children’s imaginations. Kirstie Malyon, Nursery Manager at Tops Fawley said; “We would like to say a huge thank you to the Waterside Christmas Fire Engine volunteers for the magic they brought to our Christmas Party. But also for all the work they do throughout December to raise money for our community group and local charities”. e Christmas party at Tops Fawley resonated with the infectious laughter of children enjoying delightful party games and indulging in scrumptious no-added sugar treats. e joyous occasion not only marked a moment of celebration but also fostered the creation of cherished memories for the children. Tops Fawley extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Waterside Christmas Cornerstone Toddler Group meet Wednesdays (during term time). 10am to 11.30 am at Cornerstone Church, New Road, Hythe. Each session is £1 per family which includes drinks and biscuits. ey have a good variety of toys, books, playdoh, puzzles, simple cra and singing time. Children and babies 0-5 years and their parents/carers are all very welcome. Dibden Mini’s is back up and running at St Andrew’s in Dibden Purlieu, with Playtime Tuesdays 9am to 10.30am and Playtime Thursdays 10am to 11.30am every week during term time. Each Playtime session includes a snack for the Minis, cra , free-play with toys and games and singing. ere is also a Babes and Bumps Support Group on Tuesdays 10.30am to 12pm. Toddler Group at Cornerstone PLAYTIME WITH DIBDEN MINI’S Fire Engine team and Santa for making this holiday celebration a resounding success. e event was a testament to the nurturing community spirit shared by all, promising a festive season lled with warmth and joy. Tops Fawley are part of a sustainable day nursery chain, Tops Day Nurseries, who have over 30 nurseries across the South and Southwest. Tops Fawley offers exible early education and care for children aged 3 months to school age. e Handy Trust run youth clubs in Hythe and Marchwood, for children in years 5 and up, until the age of 16. Go along for a free taster and then sessions are only £1 a week. Marchwood Youth Club is held at Marchwood Hub, Lloyds Recreation Ground on Main Road, every Monday during term-time from 6pm to 7.30pm. Hythe Youth Club is at the Ewart Recreation Ground on Jones Lane, every Wednesday in term-time from 5.30pm to 7pm. For more information about e Handy Trust please visit: thehandytrust.co.uk Youth Clubs in Hythe and Marchwood Festive fun with the Waterside Christmas Fire Engine No Limits was thrilled to be able to organise a bowling trip for its Young Carers group recently, thanks to Barratt Homes. e independent charity based in Southampton supports vulnerable children in the region by providing free information, advice, counselling, and advocacy services. With Barratt’s funding help, it arranged an evening of respite for some of the young people it looks a er via its Young Carers in Southampton project. anks to the developer’s donation of more than £1,500, two groups of 24 young carers spent a fun- lled evening at Hollywood Bowl in Southampton. Barratt’s support also funded a Christmas party for No Limits children as well as a few other trips planned for this year. Emma Bowley, Young Carers Project Worker, said: “We’ve been delighted to be able to provide respite breaks for our young carers with Barratt’s support. They are an amazing group of people who provide invaluable support to their families, and this is our chance to give them a treat. Thank you from everyone here.” Talking about her trips out with the charity, young carer, Nikola, said: “I really enjoy going out with the Young Carers group because it is a break and a reward for taking care of my brother at home.” No Limits was one of Barratt Homes’ o cial charities for 2023, and the developer raised money on behalf of the Charity throughout the year. Megan Hamlyn, Barratt Homes Marketing Manager, said: “Barratt is committed to supporting worthwhile organisations in the communities where it is building, and it’s a pleasure to be able to support No Limits this year – the charity is doing such great things for young people who need it in the local area. I’m so glad to hear what an excellent time the charity’s young carers had on their evening out and we hope they had a fantastic festive time at their Christmas party as well. They really deserve it.” No Limits was set up in 1993, when it was realised that young people needed somewhere to go for information, advice, and counselling. e charity employs 120 sta and has support from a further 100 students and volunteer workers. e Southampton charity’s Young Carers project is for children and young people aged 8-18 years old whose lives are a ected by caring for an unwell or disabled family member. e charity o ers information, advice and support around being a young carer, in addition to fortnightly group sessions and holiday activities they can take part in. No Limits ‘Bowled’ over with Housebuilders Support for Young Carers Bowling fun Waterside Veterans Coffee Club e Waterside Veterans Co ee Club is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am at Fawley Royal British Legion, Exbury Road, Black eld, SO45 1XD, with their next meeting scheduled for Saturday 17th February. All veterans, serving personnel, their families and dependents are invited to attend and enjoy the usually good humour, refreshments and occasional visiting guests.
