Totton and District Probus Club has a friendly atmosphere and is open to both ladies and gentlemen. The Club is directed primarily to provide friendship between members and the opportunity of meeting new people. The monthly meetings consist of a social get-together starting at 11am with tea or coffee, followed by a lunch prepared by their resident chef and an informative talk. Additional activities between meetings have recently been introduced, including visits to local Garden Centres or places of interest for morning coffee. Probus Clubs are for retired people to enjoy monthly get-togethers and meet with likeminded people. There will be over 30 tables of local crafts people selling perfect gifts for Mother’s Day, Easter, birthdays or just to treat yourself. Enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of homemade cake, there will be a raffle with lots of lovely prizes. Organised by Waterside Veterans Coffee Club, supporting local Veterans in the Waterside. Anyone with an interest in railways and tramways is very welcome. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at the Eastleigh Railway Institute in Romsey Road, starting at 7.30pm. This venue is close to the railway and bus stations, and ample parking is nearby. They request a £3 donation to cover costs. Please note that the meeting room is on the first floor accessed only via stairs. On Tuesday 5th March for John Laker who will share some more of his everpopular tram and urban railway ciné library. Followed on Tuesday 2nd April when Martyn Davies presents another selection of slides of ‘mixed railways’.
