As part of this, the Trust has recently launched a major photography competition entitled ‘Our Coast’, to capture the many wonders of New Forest National Park shoreline. Why not enter? You might be inspired by a coastal scene and bird life on the marshes… Or perhaps cold-water dips, dog walks, and eating ice-cream? All amateur photographers are welcome, with photos assessed by a panel of judges, including acclaimed international photographer, Steve Poole. e winning photos will join an exhibition at the Countryside Education Trust’s Fort Climate Centre in Beaulieu at the end of March, with prizes awarded in each age category (under 12, 12-18 and 18+). Check out the rules by scanning the QR code in the advert, but remember to send in your photos by 10th March. Photos must be in portrait orientation. Alongside this, there will be a lecture series, a litter picking event at Calshot with other local environmental organisations, and a children’s workshop. Something for everyone! Meetings start at 7.30pm and are held in the Lyndhurst Community Centre, central car park, High Street, Lyndhurst SO43 7NY (doors open at 7pm). e group plan a eld trip to Arne RSPB reserve near Wareham (SY 972 878, BH20 5BJ) on Saturday 9th March from 10am to 3pm. Meet in the reserve’s car park by their information centre. Then on Thursday 21st March from 10am to 1pm the group will visit Kings Copse (SU 436 016) near Black eld, meeting in Blackwell Common car park.
