Page 62 • The HERALD • 7th March 2024 v SEND ALL YOUR NEWS TO THE HERALD v ASK A PROFESSIONAL Embrace Your Financial Future – Today! by Michael Osman, Oyster Financial Planning ere is lots of noise in the press about the cost of living, in ation and just very recently the UK being in a recession! All of this noise can make you anxious and nervous about your nancial future! It doesn’t have to be this way! e recent recession numbers are tiny, it seems in the press that the word ‘recession’ is a dirty word. e percentages involved are tiny and don’t need the negative press attention. ese things happen in life, recessions, con icts, in ation, interest rates, they always have, and they always will! Stock markets fall and stock markets rise they always will. It’s time to look beyond the short term ‘negativity’ and subsequent ‘ nancial paranoia’. Embracing your nancial future doesn’t mean you ignore the events above you just learn to see the bigger picture and embrace it! By creating a carefully constructed Lifestyle Financial Plan which I have been doing for 16 years or my 27 + years advising for my clients you can take these short term nancial ‘punches’ on the chin because you know better! is is what we try and educate our clients with. Once you get to see the bigger, longer-term picture you can learn to block out the short term ‘noise’. By ‘longer’ I don’t mean planning for a nancial future 15-120 years in the future, I mean we need to look long term, but your Lifestyle Financial Plan begins from day one, and then day two, day 50, day 365, and way beyond. By using sensible long term ‘assumptions’ on growth and in ation and interest rates we can help to ‘iron out’ the short-term turbulence because of what history has consistently shown us. Oyster’s clients bene t from all of this. If you are reading this and nd yourself ‘anxious’ at all about your nancial future please do come see us, have a co ee and see how we can help you embrace your nancial future and remove this ‘anxiety’. Call Michael at Oyster on: 023 8084 8410 or email: michael@oyster nancialplanning.co.uk or just pop in if you want, we are in Hythe village opposite the old Lloyds Bank.
