The books teach children about environmental issues in a positive and inspiring way with happy endings. Titled ‘Meet e Wild Tribe Heroes’ the books are a collection of gentle and engaging true pollution, climate change and habitat loss. Da y the Sea Turtle, Marli the Pu n, Nelson the Whale, Buddy the Orangutan, Hunter the Polar Bear, Sunny the Koala and Ziggy the Bee are all Wild Tribe Heroes. e books were presented to Head Teacher Mrs Lashmar and English Lead Teacher Miss Welch by Lion Lesley Donnison on behalf of Romsey & Waterside Lions Club. stories about animals that nd themselves in trouble when their lives are a ected by plastic Lion Lesley Donnison presenting the books to North Baddesley Infant School Help Us to Buy St Francis Church, Langley, in Order to Create Langley Hub – Community Hall From Hope Palmer What better purpose for a redundant church building than becoming a centre for community gatherings? For the past 60 years, St Francis Church has played host to numerous community groups such as; a playgroup, a Brownie Pack, a Guide Unit, Langley Women’s Institute, keep t groups, art classes, parties, jumble sales as well as having a thriving religious community in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. Sadly, about a year ago the church su ered some damage to its roof. e church was closed and now the decision to sell it has been made. is wonderful space, comprising of a large meeting room, kitchen, toilets and o ce area as well as parking spaces o ers so much potential for community use. Join our new enthusiastic group to raise the money needed to purchase the church for the Langley community. It is a huge endeavour, but “very doable” if we all work together. Although an estate agent has been appointed to sell the property, the details of price etc are yet to be released.
