New Forest Brass Band will be playing some great tunes linked to our theme and there will be smaller groups of musicians from Marchwood Music Society on their stand. ere’s lots going on in our arena: New Forest Meddlars will be showcasing their traditional Morris Dancing and the pupils from Stacey T White’s school of dance will entertain with ballet, modern dance, and acrobatics. Shine eatre school will be treating us to their fantastic brand of musical entertainment, and for those who are feeling energetic there will be ‘races’ with dinosaurs, being organised by Marchwood Scouts. For our younger visitors Benny Balloon will be modelling balloons around the fete ground and giving magic shows in his tent throughout the a ernoon. Messy Church will once again be holding cra s and activities in the Scout and Guide Hut for all to take part in and will also have a ‘human fruit machine to play!’ As always there will be all the fun of the fair with rides and bouncy castles to keep everyone entertained. On the day, take part in our treasure hunt, looking for clues which create a sentence around the fete ground to WIN a Family Ticket to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu! ere will also be a fantastic ra e on the day with more great prizes to be won - watch our Facebook page for details. Remember to bring some cash for your tickets. Prior to the fete we have run a poster competition for all young people in the village under 16, to design a poster advertising the village fete, which has been organised in conjunction with Marchwood Junior School. e winner will be receiving a family ticket to the New Forest Wildlife Park on the day and their poster displayed on the notice boards around the village, along with the three runners-up. All the entries submitted will be displayed in the Committee Tent at the fete on the day. Watch out too for the winning poster in the next issue of e Herald and some information about its creator! ere will be over thirty stalls on site, with goods to sell, cra s and activities from all sorts of local organisations and individuals, in addition to a wellstocked bar and numerous food stalls, including a BBQ, Pizzas, Fijian food, tea and cake from the Marchwood WI and others, barista co ees and confectionery. Visitors can meet our local police and re service o cers and members of the armed forces from the Royal Logistic Corps 17th Port and Maritime Regiment, based in Marchwood. ere will be something there for everyone and we look forward to seeing you! Followed on Wednesday 16th July with Marc Jackman for a watercolour paint making demo with Jackman’s art materials. New members are always welcome and visitors are invited to go along for a small entry fee (£5). Meetings are held in the Pine Room at Lyndhurst Community Centre from 7.30pm-9.30pm March to October (2.15pm until 4.15pm from November to February). On Thursday 19th June for a talk about Dentaid. Followed on Thursday 17th July for a talk about e Great Exhibition. ey would love you to go along, it’s a lovely way to spend the morning, with some interesting, informative speakers. WATERSIDE VETERANS COFFEE CLUB The Waterside Veterans Coffee Club is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am at Fawley Royal British Legion, Exbury Road, Black eld, SO45 1XD, with their next meeting scheduled for Saturday 21st June. All veterans, serving personnel, their families and dependents are invited to attend and enjoy the usually good humour, refreshments and occasional visiting guests.
