Outgoing club President, Jan Hoy, presented a cheque for £250 to Lady Montagu, who has been patron of the H&IOW Air Ambulance since its o cial launch at Beaulieu in 2007. Lady Montagu said: “We are very grateful to local organisations like the Inner Wheel for their support, which helps to ensure that the charity can continue its life-saving work across the county.” Jan Hoy & Lady Montagu outside Palace House THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS! from RNLI Hythe and Calshot Fundraisers On Saturday 28th June, RNLI Hythe and Calshot Fundraisers collected a fantastic £531.06 in donations at the Tesco Superstore (Dibden). e Branch would like to thank Tesco and all volunteers who gave their time to help, but especially those who donated so generously. Be sure to come along and join in the fun. RNLI Hythe & Calshot Fundraising Branch Vice Chair, Brenda Spearing Holbury Manor Oak Felling from Fawley Parish Council Fawley Parish Council has reluctantly taken the very sad decision, a er considering an extensive tree report from NFDC, that it is necessary to fell an English oak tree at Holbury Manor. e tree has become diseased and displaying characteristics of Armillaria infection; the risk of falling branches in a public area is the biggest concern as the area is very popular with the local community. e tree can be felled leaving a habitat pole. We will also be replanting a suitable replacement in an alternative location. e council is keen to provide a lasting commemoration of the tree by carving the habitat pole, the limbs of the tree will also be utilised in the wild play area at Holbury Manor. If you have any thoughts on a suitable carving or art project we are keen to hear from you.
