Each day Mandy will be demonstrating various print making processes. is summer marks a milestone for one of the region’s most cherished cultural events: Hampshire Open Studios celebrates its 25th anniversary with its biggest art trail yet. From 16th to 25th August, over 310 venues across the county will open their doors, inviting the public to explore, engage, and connect with local artists, all free of charge. In Hythe you can visit the Waterside Art Group at the Community Centre and close by is printmaker John Bunday and painters Mary and Peter York. ere is a group of 6 artists at the Scout Hut in Dibden Purlieu and just around the corner at the WI Hall is Piece of Art and Slice of Cake venue o ering 40 artists work on display as well as delicious homemade cakes! Nearby are Brenda and Chris Molyneux and Sharon Ridding’s venues to round o your visits. With so many venues open, you can plan your trail using the free colour catalogue available now, or explore digitally with the Hampshire Open Studios app, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. e app allows visitors to search by medium, date, or location, navigate via interactive maps, and save their favourite venues. Visitors can also enter a £100 prize draw towards purchasing artwork from a favourite Hampshire Open Studios artist. For more information visit: www. hampshireopenstudios.org.uk Frances Mason and Jenny Pritchard – Venue 49 At Venue 49 in Pilley, you will nd Frances, Jenny and New Forest Mohair, open every day from Saturday 16th – Bank Holiday Monday 25th August from 11am – 5pm. In the gallery, Frances will be exhibiting her atmospheric forest paintings, prints, artist books and cards, and Jenny will be exhibiting her prints, collages and cyanotype images, with information on the di erent printmaking techniques available. New Forest Mohair’s range of beautiful hand-dyed mohair yarns, curly eece and needlefelting bres will also be available, along with mohair gi s and quirky garden items on display in the Marquee. Finally there will be some lovely angora goats that provide the mohair eece for you to say hello to. ere are many artists exhibiting a wide range of art, from painting to textiles and jewellery around the Waterside and New Forest area. Jill’s paintings are primarily semi - abstract landscapes and seascapes. She will be exhibiting a variety of works in acrylic, pastel and watercolour. Becca Allen is a fabric and mixed media artist. She likes to use recycled fabrics and this can be seen in her necklaces, purses and scarves. Debbie Goodfellow has experimented with many disciplines of crochet from basic granny squares to modern mosaic crochet. She looks forward to showing you her latest projects for the home and garden. Caroline Bertram has begun to use fused glass as her medium of choice. She ‘paints’ wildlife and landscape but also makes glass jewellery, bowls and other small items. Brenda & Chris Molyneux
