Marion Lewis Waterside Art Group Summer Exhibition - Venue 77 Residents and visitors in the Hythe and Waterside area can once again look forward to Waterside Art Group’s free summer exhibition at Hythe & Dibden Community Centre. e Group dates back to 1975, making this year its 50th anniversary. It has a diverse membership, with each artist bringing di erent inspiration and skills to create an exhibition that displays a broad range of artwork in a wide variety of subjects and media. Waterside Art Group is proud to be part of the annual county-wide Hampshire Open Studios – which also happens to be marking its 25th birthday! Original paintings and drawings as well as prints and cards by members of Waterside Art Group will be on display at Hythe & Dibden Community Centre. Exhibition visitors will nd a variety of work created by members using di erent techniques and media such as oil, acrylic, watercolour, pencil, pastel and stained glass. e range of subjects will embrace abstracts and still life; animals, owers, nature and wildlife; people, pets and portraits; as well as landscapes and townscapes. Members’ artwork will be available for sale and there will be a ra e to win a painting or print. In August 2024 for the sixth year running, they exhibited as “Artists for Oakhaven”, as part of Hampshire Open Studios. ey had a great exhibition, with lots of visitors, many of whom shared with their special stories of the care their loved ones received at Oakhaven. ey were generous in their support of the exhibition, with 13 paintings and many cards winging their way to new homes. Over £2400 was raised last year - their best result yet, with all revenues donated to the hospice. Thank you to all of you who made it
