Meet at the entrance to the reserve at Eight Acres. Tadburn Meadows Local Nature Reserve is hidden amongst the houses and covers almost 12 acres and provides a home for a variety of Britain’s best loved wildlife and some nationally threatened species. e site boasts a variety of habitats, from a stream more characteristic of the New Forest to wet woodland and grassland. Tadburn Conservation Volunteers are a local group working on Tadburn Meadows Local Nature Reserve, Romsey. Contact: tadburn.meadows@gmail.com MUSIC IN ROMSEY e next concert in Romsey Abbey will be Sounds of Stage and Screen on Saturday 20th September, 7.30pm, with Charity Symphony Orchestra and Sweet Charity Choir. Join two of the region’s successful and exciting fundraising ensembles as they embark on their second collaborative project, for an evening of choral and orchestral greats from the stage and screen. On Saturday 11th October, 7.30pm, will be 30 Years of Song with Romsey Male Voice Choir. A celebratory journey from 1995 to the present day via the medium of song. e performance will feature some of the very rst things the choir ever learnt and performed, along with some more tunes from down the years including some of the more contemporary numbers that have proven popular in the past couple of years. On Saturday 8th November, 7.30pm, will be Rachmanino Vespers with Romsey Choral Society. A magni cent example of Russian Orthodox sacred choral music, composed in just 2 weeks, resulting from a culmination of interest in Russian sacred music spanning two decades. As with all traditional Russian church music, it is performed a cappella as instruments were not allowable in Orthodox services. Although in uenced by Tchaikovsky’s earlier sacred music, Rachmanino ’s use of harmony and textual variety is unique and rich.
