It also makes my role as Careers Leader both enjoyable and rewarding.” Assistant Principal Charlie Woodsford added: “The rigorous assessment process has highlighted and confirmed the strength of the College’s comprehensive Brockenhurst College has successfully been reaccredited for the QCS A DESPERATE PLEA FROM HYTHE AND DISTRICT VOLUNTARY CAR GROUP from Hythe And District Voluntary Car Group KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY MOVING – VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED Our purpose is to take local people to various medical appointments to almost any hospital from Bournemouth to Portsmouth to Winchester. We also cover drives to Dentist, Doctors, Podiatry and almost any medically linked appointment that our clients have. Last year we covered 1,991 trips to appointments and in May this year we had to turn away 35 people as we did not have the Drivers. Many individuals faced transport challenges resulting in missed appointments. e Hythe & District Voluntary Car Group aims to provide quality a ordable transport for adults and we need your help in order to do this. By volunteering your time and vehicle, you will be o ering a vital service to adults in your community. It is a very rewarding position and is paramount to the Community, particularly as other methods of transport are either di cult or una ordable to some. You must have had a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 5 years and produce valid insurance documents for the vehicle and where applicable a current MOT Certi cate. You will be asked weekly to con rm your availability and fuel costs are reimbursed monthly on submission of a mileage log at a generous rate of 50p per mile. We have drivers who like to work most days, others who will just cover perhaps 2 half days, but we would like to think that you could commit to at least one day per week. Demand is quite great on our service. We are a lovely, friendly bunch but we are having to turn away more and more people which is not what we aim to do. If you feel you can spare some time, then please help us support our Community and Volunteer today! If you are interested in joining us, please email: hythecargroup2@outlook.com to nd out more.
