Celebrating 30 years of song, a journey from 1995 to the present day via the medium of song. e performance will feature some of the very rst things the choir ever learnt and performed, along with some more tunes from down the years including some of the more contemporary numbers that have proven popular in the past couple of years. On Saturday 8th November, 7.30pm, will be Rachmanino Vespers with Romsey Choral Society. A magni cent example of Russian Orthodox sacred choral music, composed in just 2 weeks, resulting from a culmination of interest in Russian sacred music spanning two decades. As with all traditional Russian church music, it is performed a cappella as instruments were not allowable in Orthodox services. Although in uenced by Tchaikovsky’s earlier sacred music, Rachmanino ’s use of harmony and textual variety is unique and rich. Autumn Craft Fair Go along to Totton and Eling Community Centre on Saturday 11th October, 10am – 2pm, for an Autumn Cra Fair. Shop at local cra ers stalls, tea and co ee available. Hosted by Knit2Together, all the money raised from sales on their table and pro t from the event will be donated to e Lewy Body Society, a charity that supports people with Lewy body dementia, their families and carers, health care professionals and researchers.
