Jo had taught oristry at Bournemouth University for a number of years before starting the Academy of Floristry with business partner Helen. e rst arrangement featured a grey urn and Jo had placed many trails of trachelospermum into wire netting before adding orange lilies, orange alstromeria and red anthuriums. A beautiful loose design reminiscent of Constance Spry. Jo had constructed a tower using an electrical cardboard reel and xed a cardboard disc on top and had drilled holes to hold test tubes. Orange jute sticks had been arranged in a tall pyramid. Beautiful owers were placed in the tubes including orange alstromeria, alchemilla mollis and orange tulips. e third design featured a pink rectangular wooden frame made by Jo with coloured wool wound around the frame and test tubes attached. Small pieces of trachelospermum were added together with red, orange and pale pink germinis, orange roses and deep pink hyacinths. A very eye-catching design. A very di erent container for this arrangement - a bright pink wellington boot. Large fatsia leaves were inserted with some eucalyptus. Unusual cerise carnations with a dark centre (hocus pocus) were added together with pink spray carnations, pink cordyline leaves, mauve sea lavender and pale pink germinis. A matching boot completed this unusual design. e nal design featured a round grey metal container placed on a tall metal stand. Many beautiful lichen- covered twigs had been placed at varying heights in the container. Tall green moluccella, delphiniums, purple anemones, lime green anthuriums and eryngiums were added to complete this arrangement. A truly colourful demonstration with such beautiful fresh owers and so many ideas. Jo was such an enthusiastic and inspiring demonstrator.
