All are welcome. Members enjoy a friendly, social atmosphere at the monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e. ere are lm nights, quizzes, speakers on various topics and club drive days. Some members have other makes of classic vehicles such as Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the range of vehicle manufacturers to complement their Austin A30/35 models. Pictured is a new member’s much travelled, black, four door, 1958 Morris Minor. One special feature is the Webasto sunroof. It has covered 250,000 miles around Europe and the UK. One very proud owner from new. e April meeting was well attended. It started with club business as usual, followed by a break for tea, co ee, mini Easter eggs and hot cross buns. Members had been asked to take along unusual items, not necessarily car related, for identi cation and discussion. e items that were taken along were very interesting. Members successfully identi ed many items but some remained a mystery requiring further research. One member took in a 12 string electric guitar, made by him in the 1960s, with a body in the shape of a butter y. The items stimulated enjoyable discussion. On Thursday 12th May there will be an auction held for the ‘Honeypot’ children’s charity (reg. no. 1011672). This national charity is locally based and provides respite breaks in the countryside for young carers. Meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Rd, SO40 7GH. Do go along and meet them. 1958 Morris Minor Next Stop for Hampshire – Wildlife Recovery! Key railway stations across the south of England, will be transformed into hubs for wildlife thanks to an exciting new partnership between the RSPB and South Western Railway (SWR). Following on from the success of previous projects together in Surrey, the partners will transform four more stations into wildlife-friendly gardens across the south of England: Ashurst and Havant in Hampshire, Brading on the Isle of Wight and Sunningdale in Berkshire. SWR and the RSPB will aspire to make these stations buzz with wildlife and provide homes for native species. ey will sow wild ower meadows, put up nest boxes and bee hotels, and work with local groups to encourage residents and commuters to take wildlife-friendly actions in their own homes. e partners chose these four agship stations for their proximity to existing habitats and nature reserves, as well as their available space for wildlife. Brading Station on the Isle of Wight, for example, is next to the RSPB’s Brading Marsh nature reserve, a Site of Special Scienti c Interest. e RSPB will also support SWR in their goal to become a biodiversity net positive business by 2030 through everyday activities, such as the management of plants across their stations and depots.
