With the money they have bought polo shirts with their logo on from urston the sign, print and workwear company in Holbury. e volunteers will wear them at the Gardeners’ World Spring Fair in Beaulieu at the end of April. ey also bought a pavement sign from urston which they will also take to Beaulieu. A laminator and some plants were also purchased. e volunteers wish to thank everyone who collected the blue tokens for them. ey will be also able to do their Summer Cream Teas and put on a Garden Fayre on Saturday 24th June. Hythe & Waterside Rotary are delighted to have been able to support Jack and Jill’s Pre -School, Hythe by donating equipment to them. Based at Hythe Community Centre, Jack and Jill’s, has been providing child care for children aged 2 to school age for some 28 years, and has an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’. Hythe & Waterside Rotary has donated 2 refurbished tablets and a smart phone which will enable sta to update parents via the specialist online communication system, Tapestry, as well as providing access for the children. Money From Local Calendar Sales Donated to Charity Proceeds from the sale of the 2023 Hythe & Waterside People Calendar have recently been donated to two local charities. e calendars featuring photographs taken bymembers of the Hythe and Waterside People Facebook group, was produced by the group’s founder, David Morris and went on sale at the end of 2022 for just £6 to raise money for the Wessex Cancer Trust’s Waterside Cancer Support Centre and the Hythe Pier Heritage Association. is year’s calendar was dedicated to the memory of local hero Barry Bevis, whose farm in Frost Lane has delighted generations of children for decades. David recently presented both charities with a cheque for £185. David commented: “Thank to all who supported us by buying this year’s calendar, and to all our outlets: Hythe Post Office, The Herald, Cards For All Occasions, Dibden Purlieu Post Office, Compuco and Blissful.” Enjoy a monthly, social, art session for your own wellbeing, meeting with like-minded people, exploring a di erent theme each month.
