There is so much work that goes into Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes has applauded the hard work of a leading developer a er being given a VIP tour of a new stateof-the-art sports facility. e Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion forms the nal part of Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ 275-home King’s Chase development in Romsey and promises a much-needed, high-quality venue for local sports clubs and the wider community. Joining Caroline on the day was Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Councillor David Drew, and Centre Manager Ben Homer, who showed o the venue’s impressive facilities. Included on the site are adult and junior football pitches, rugby pitches and AstroTurf, as well as a bar and training facilities. e professional League Academy standard football pitches were a particular highlight of the day, having been built on 40 acres of land gi ed by the HC Marshall Trust. Caroline Nokes said: “The Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion is already phenomenally busy, with many local sports clubs and other groups using it. There has been a real need for this sort of facility in Romsey and it is good to see how Test Valley Borough Council has been able to work hand in hand with Barratt and David Wilson Homes and the HC Marshall Trust to bring forward this wonderful asset. Kindly donated by Giganet, the washing machine can be booked out for a 2 hour slot Monday – Sunday at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Fairy nonbio tablets are available to use or bring your own. Waterside Quilters are a friendly group of patchworkers who meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 10am until 12.30pm at St Andrew’s Church, Dibden Purlieu. At the meetings they hand sew their own projects and have an optional monthly set project. Co ee and a chat about ideas are also part of the morning. Whether you are a novice or experienced patch worker you will be welcome to join their friendly and creative group to share ideas and knowledge and co ee and biscuits!
