For every pound that is spent by Co-op members in store, a penny is donated to one of three nominated organisations in the local area. Co-op stores where Calshot RNLI is included are the large Co-op store in Holbury and the two stores in Totton. Co-op members can manage their preferences via a phone app or on the Co-op website to either have their donations split equally between the three local causes or can nominate one of them to receive the full amount of the money they have raised. Vanessa Kerr, Co-op Member Pioneer said: “Co-op members receive money off their shopping and exclusive special offers, whilst also raising money for worthy local causes. We are very proud that our Local Community Fund scheme has raised over £117 million nationally.
