Other than fundraising events, “meet-ups” have been somewhat curtailed owing to pandemic restrictions during the past two years but it is hoped this may become a regular feature. HPHA chairman Anthony Smith welcomed the attendees to the meeting which was held at the Shed (at the Pier) and hosted by HPHA’s directors, who along with Shed founder Allan Fairhead explained the plans being put forward and progress being made. HPHA has an active programme of work on Hythe Pier and the train underway and are looking to expand their volunteer force. To help raise awareness they had a stall at the New Forest Volunteer Fair held recently in Brockenhurst. Fundraising events are also planned for 2023, including the popular Rock the Pier musical festival on Saturday 15th July. is event is a major undertaking and HPHA are very keen to attract further volunteers to assist with making this year’s event the best yet.
