To start the week, Greenbuttercup CIC are delighted to be hosting a free production of ‘Roots and Branches’ by ve actors aged 18-25 years from the ‘ eatre of Life’ (www.theatreforlife. co.uk). e 25 minutes of reminiscence theatre and singing is based on a true love story, and follows the lives of Brian and Anne stretching back nearly 70 years… from their rst meeting at a dance in 1953 – shortly a er the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, to their less than ideal living quarters during naval o cer Brian’s posting in Malta. Historical moments, archive footage (such as the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II), songs, and radio clips are integrated in and around the scenes, which will help evoke memories of that time. e performance will be supported by a 20 minute intergenerational and creative workshop, providing an opportunity for group members to discuss with the cast their favourite memories, historic moments and songs from the show. ere will also be the chance to sing a couple of well-known songs featured in the production. Light refreshments will be available a er the workshop for a donation. e production will take place on Monday 15th May at Abbotswood Community Centre, Romsey SO51 0BX. It starts at 11am but please arrive by 10.45am. e ‘ eatre of Life’, supported by National Lottery Community Funding, have helped Greenbuttercup CIC put on this production free of charge. HYTHE HUDDLE ythe Huddle, the drop in support group for people living with dementia and their carers, organised by Families Matter, meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm at Cornerstone URC, Hythe SO45 6BR.
